According to statistics:

🙂 39 343 patients got transplantation in 2015, which equal to the capacity of the stadium in Verona or Leeds;

🙂 1 donor can save 8 lives, 1 donor of cell and tissue can save 100 lives;

🙂 24 656 kidneys were transplanted in 2015, 4 million dialysis procedures were avoided; recipients got 16 million hours of better quality of life ;

🙁 18 patients die every hour, waiting for transplantation = 6 702 patients of the waiting list died in 2015;

🙁 47,613 new patients are registered in the waiting list for transplantation in 2015, 5 new patients are added every hour;

🙂 Grow of donors in 2015: transplantation from deceased persons + 4.7%, from alive donors + 1.9%;

🙂 Most kidney transplants (from deceased donors): 1-Spain (54.6), 2-Croatia (49.5), 3-Belgium (41.7);

🙁 When it’s time for donation, the number of family refusals remains high: of 12,730 families, who were asked for the collection of organs of their deceased relatives, the average number of refusals in Europe is 40%

🙁 286 A380 airplanes are required to accommodate patients who expected transplantation in 2015 = 143,761;

🙂 Most deceased donors (all organs): 1- Spain and Croatia (40.2), 3 – Belgium (31.6). Most transplantations (all organs): 1- Spain (100.7), 2 – Croatia (93.1), 3 – Austria (88.8)

🙂 Most liver transplantations (from deceased donor): 1 – Croatia (33.6), 2 – Spain (25.2), 3 – Belgium (24.8). Most heart transplants: 1 – Slovenia (11.4), 2 – Croatia (8.8), 3 – Czech Republic (7.9)
