According to statistics:
🙂 39 343 patients got transplantation in 2015, which equal to the capacity of the stadium in Verona or Leeds;
🙂 1 donor can save 8 lives, 1 donor of cell and tissue can save 100 lives;
🙂 24 656 kidneys were transplanted in 2015, 4 million dialysis procedures were avoided; recipients got 16 million hours of better quality of life ;
🙁 18 patients die every hour, waiting for transplantation = 6 702 patients of the waiting list died in 2015;
🙁 47,613 new patients are registered in the waiting list for transplantation in 2015, 5 new patients are added every hour;
🙂 Grow of donors in 2015: transplantation from deceased persons + 4.7%, from alive donors + 1.9%;
🙂 Most kidney transplants (from deceased donors): 1-Spain (54.6), 2-Croatia (49.5), 3-Belgium (41.7);
🙁 When it’s time for donation, the number of family refusals remains high: of 12,730 families, who were asked for the collection of organs of their deceased relatives, the average number of refusals in Europe is 40%
