On January 30, 2015  Lviv region was visited by the Minister of Healthcare of “Ukraine – Alexander Kvitashvily

       On January 30, 2015  Lviv region was visited by the Minister of Healthcare of “Ukraine – Alexander Kvitashvili. During the trip the Minister met with the medical community, with the leaders of the leading medical institutions of the region, with the Academic Council and students of Danylo Halytskiy National Medical University of Lviv and also Mr. Kvitashvily met with the representatives of NGOs and trade unions.

       2015 has to become central in terms of the implementation of health reform in Ukraine. Its first results will be noticeable within four to five months. Lviv region was selected as priority area for the implementation of reforms in healthcare, as the  minister of  healthcare stated.

During the meeting with the Minister, the representative of  LCCF of “Sister Dalila” discussed the working points of the Regional Program called “program to improve medical care for patients with pulmonary hypertension in Lviv region for 2015”, with the Director of the Department of Healthcare of Lviv Regional State administration- Mr. Chechotka Bohdan Romanovych . The program aims to provide patients with drugs according to outpatient treatment plan. Next week we shall meet with officials of the regional level regarding our next steps and timelines of the program making.

       The conference aws also attended by the deputy, the head of the political fraction  “Samopomich”, Oleg Berezyuk who  is not aside the problem of pulmonary hypertension and understands the importance of compulsory licensing of Sildenafil by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

       There is still an open question of  funding of Lviv citizens, patients with pulmonary hypertension at the local level which we shall soon discuss with the head of the Healthcare Department- Volodymyr Zub.

       This is just the beginning of “marathon”. We look forward to resuming our work with not only with officials but also with physicians, patients, community organizations, institutions because only due to our united efforts, we can expect the desired result!
