07/01/2017 an updated National List of Essential Medicines comes into effect, which excludes essential drugs for people with rare disease – pulmonary arterial hypertension – “Sildenafil”, “Iloprost”. Thus, starting from 07.01.2017 on the regional level health care establishments will not be able to hold tenders for the purchase of “Revatio” (active ingredient “Sildenafil”), “Ventavis” (active ingredient “Iloprost”) until they cover 100% needs for basic medicines  (according to the updated list), which is almost impossible under the present circumstances.

There is a danger that people with a rare disease – pulmonary arterial hypertension

 – may be left without the vital treatment.

In this regard, we immediately lodged a written appeal to the head of Lviv regional state administration – O.Syniutka, head of the Lviv regional council – O.Hanuschyn, Head of the Lviv regional council on health – M.Hychka, Head of the Lviv regional council on budget – O.Domchak with a request 05/30/2017 to cofinance a comprehensive program of medical care for residents of Lviv region in 2017-2020 years on the session of Lviv Regional Council, in part of improving medical care for patients with pulmonary hypertension in Lviv region.

So, 05/30/2017 p. Lviv regional council will hold a session, beginning at 10 am. We’ll see!!!
