Officials of “Samopomich” political party supported the PH Day at session meeting

On April 21st, 2016 officials of “Samopomich” political party supported the PH Day at session meeting of Lviv city council. All members wore T-shirts with PH Day symbol in order to provide solidarity to patients with pulmonary hypertension and draw public and State attention, represented by the President, Prime Minister and Verkhovna Rada, to the issues of pulmonary hypertension and the right to life of patients with this disease.

The Head of LCCF of “Sister Delila”, NGO “PH URDA” Oksana Kulish in her speech at the session expressed gratitude to the “Samopomich” for wearing T-shirts with WPHD symbol and highlighted the importance of unification of patient organizations, doctors, officials and deputies for improving the life quality of patients with pulmonary hypertension.

After this, Igor Stojanovski from “Samopomich” took word. He urged party members to vote “FOR” the draft bill №2386a-1″ On organs transplantation”, which establishes presumed consent for organ donation in order to save the lives of patients, who need organ transplants. This especially refers to patients with pulmonary hypertension, who have to turn to the European clinics due to legislation problems here, in Ukraine. Sadly, foreign clinics often deny Ukrainian patients due to inability to pay for treatment.

The speakers were heard, as a bill №2386а-1 “On organs transplantation” was approved, getting 243 votes “FOR”: http://www.slovoidilo.ua/2016/04/21/novyna/suspilstvo/rada-uxvalyla-zakon-pro-transplantacziyu-orhaniv

Head of “Samopomich” Andrii Shevtsiv urged all officials to stand up and catch a breath for patients with pulmonary hypertension.

Olga Mokritska, resident of Lviv, mom of two children, who got a lung transplantation in Austrian clinic and supports patients with pulmonary hypertension, also attended the session.

To sum up, we managed to unite all officials for improving the quality and length of life of patients with pulmonary hypertension, as the bill №2386a-1 “On transplantation of organs” was approved!!!

We thank YOU!!!
