In Lviv there was held Round Table on “Donation from deceased people in Ukraine” within World PH Day

May 5 in Lviv there was held Round Table on “Donation from deceased people in Ukraine”.

The aim was to discuss and determine the mechanisms of development of donation from deceased people: organizational, legal, medical, ethical and religious aspects, readiness of the society to take donation, international experience and to clarifythe lawmaking problems of this area.

Among the speakers there were Kostiantyn Rudenko, main cardiosurgeon at Ministry of Health, Juan Fuertes, board member of PHA Europe (Spain), Ondrei Dostal, head of medical and pharmaceutical practice at PrivewsterhouseCoopers (Prague), father  Andrii Lohin, administrator at Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi Hospital (Lviv).

By the results of the event there was prepared a resolution that would be send to competent authorities to intensify the construction of the national transplant system! Highlighted issues, interesting reports, vibrant debate filled event and intensified to act together!

Absence of transplantation in Ukraine leads to thousands deaths of  Ukrainian.

This weekend died Mariana Kizyuk, our ward who needed heart & lung transplantation.
