“Do you realize how scary it is when you realize that you have no money for tomorrow, you won’t be able to buy medicines and … live?» – “Free Press of Ukraine”
Every life begins and ends with a breath. 99.9 percent of people will never know the price of the air, it will always be a natural gift for them. And only for 0.1 percent the cost of breathing is extremely high. These people are patients with pulmonary hypertension. Each of them pays from one to four thousand hryvnias per day to be able to breathe. Have you ever wondered how these people live, do you understand how scary it is when you know that you have no money for tomorrow, hence you won’t be able to buy medicines and … live?… but, of course, it’s not your problem, in particular, it’s problem of forty sick people living in Lviv region. Not so many? Yes, it is, but even one saved life is a whole world, and whether it will have a right to exist, now depends on its’ powerful inhabitants. 15th of September 119 MPs of the Lviv regional council will decide the fate of forty citizens by accepting or not accepting the target program to provide patients with medicines for pulmonary hypertension. At one minute each of them will be having someone’s life in their hands, I hope they remember this … We know that finding the money is real as Lviv regional budget for 2015 was exceeded 16%, from which the required amount can be taken to implement the program to improve medical care for patients with pulmonary hypertension in the Lviv region in 2015-2017 years. And until then I again look fearfully into the future and wonder whether it will come, – Oksana Kulish, the Head of the Lviv City Charitable Foundation of “Sister Delilah”, the patient with pulmonary hypertension.
