22/12/2015 Lviv City Charitable Foundation of “Sister Delila”, PHURDA (NGO “Pulmonary Hypertension – Ukrainian Rare Disease Association”) and Lviv City Center of social services for families, children and youth held the event “Results of campaign “Cork of for life” in 2015″ at the Lviv city council’s big session hall 

The event was opened by the Head of LCCF “Sister Delila”, Oksana Kulish, saying: “Pulmonary hypertension is a rapidly progressive lung disease, which leads to cardiovascular disease, the need for transplantation or death.

Pulmonary hypertension exists! And this disease kills people. Unfortunately, nowadays there is substantial information barrier. One of the goals of our campaign “Cork of life” is attracting of attention and publicity of issues of pulmonary hypertension and financial support for patients with the disease. “

The event was continued by the lawyer of “Sister Dalila» and PHURDA, Andrii Guley, who said: “During the Campaign “Cork of life “more people learned about the pulmonary hypertension and its symptoms. It is very important for early diagnosis of the disease. Campaign achievement is that the children unite in collecting plastic corks in order to help patients with pulmonary hypertension. Following their example, kindergartens, schools, libraries, socially responsible business, television, radio, disabled sports organizations, children’s sports organizations, political parties, which put priority to human life, joined the campaign.”

Head of “Sisters Delilah” Oksana Kulish announced that the result of the campaign was the purchasing of portable nebulizer for inhalation cure for pulmonary hypertension. This nebulizer was solemnly handed to the representative of the Lviv regional cardiocenter, under the successful implementation of Regional programof improvement of medical care for patients with pulmonary hypertension in the Lviv region in 2015-2017 years.

The culmination of the event was the awarding with Certificates of gratitude, first of all, spiritual mentor – “Sister Dalila”, all who were actively involved in the campaign «Cork of Life” in 2015 and everyone, who supported patients with pulmonary hypertension at the local, regional and national level in 2015 .

The certificates of gratitude was handed to the following: author of idea of the Campaign “Cork of life” – Myron Grytsiv, active participant, the student of “Provesin” school – Ostap Didukh, representatives of schools, kindergartens, libraries, public organizations, socially responsible business: Children’s entertainment center “Children’s Planet», Fruit, socially responsible television “TRK-Lviv”, “1 + 1”, socially responsible radio stations: “Vgolos”, “LvivFm”, “RadioRoks”, “Hit”, “Melodiia”, socially responsible football club: FC “Karpaty’, representative of “Invasport”, active volunteer in issues of pulmonary hypertension – Rostislav Loza, socially responsible officials: the representative of a political party “Samopomich”- Andrii Dvorakevych, a representative of officials Bohdan Dubnevych and Yaroslav Dubnevych, representative of DOH LRSA – Andrii Holdun.

At the end of the event the Head of LCCF of “Sister Dalila” Oksana Kulish said that the campaign “Cork for life” is the continuous and it is important to involve even more people, who care about human life.

All present at the event shouted the slogan of the campaign “Cork of life”: “A cork to a cork, gather you and I, together we will save the lives”

It’s worth of mentioning that Head of the Frankivsk Department of Social Work LMTSSSSDM, Svetlana Grytsiv, was host of the event. Thank you!

WE’D LIKE TO NOTE THAT DURING THIS EVENT THE GRANT OF “TOM LANTOS” BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF PULMONARY HYPERTENSION HAS BEEN LAUNCHED. EVERY YEAR ONLY 12 CONTRIES HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO REALISE THIS GRANT. AND WE WERE HONOURED TO GET THE CHANCE. THE GOAL OF THE GRANT IS TO SPREAD INFORMATION ABOUT NEED FOR EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF PULMONARY HYPERTENSION. IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS GRANT WILL BE HELD IN LVIV REGION.
