On November 20-21, 2017, with the support of the international organization PHA Europe in Madrid
(Spain), there  was held the first theoretical course devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension for countries with limited financial capabilities.

Grand for participation in the course was won by 10 participants from different countries, including two participants from Ukraine – Natalia Yashchuk (doctor of the Amosov Institute) and Valentina Khanenova (doctor of thescientific and practical center of pediatric cardiology and cardiosurgery). Participation in this event became possible thanks to the collaboration of the Amosov Institute and PHURDA. A course was conducted at the University Hospital 12 de Octubre, which is the reference center for the treatment of patients with pulmonary hypertension. The scientific program of the course was aimed at a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of patients with pulmonary hypertension. The executive director of the course was Professor Pilar Eskribano – Director of the Reference Center for Pulmonary Hypertension. During the course, not only international protocols and recommendations were discussed, but also a personal view and practical moments in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with pulmonary hypertension. Such new approaches as permanent intravenous infusion of prostanoids in patients with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension and balloon angioplasty in chronic post-metabolic pulmonary hypertension of small branches were discussed. At the end of the course, each participant had the opportunity to discuss the problems in their countries in the treatment of patients with pulmonary hypertension and options for their solution. In the end – a good reception, lots of new and useful information, new friends, with whom you can consult about your own patients. This was only the first course conducted by the PHA Europe association, and the association also promises to hold a course for nurses and a more in-depth course for doctors.
