The issue of Pulmonary Hypertension hasn`t been raised until recently in Ukraine. There is no  an official register, there is no a state program of support, the Centre of Pulmonary Hypertension is also absent. And we all understand that it is impossible to provide such treatment in Ukraine and the next step is  transplantation. This issue has not yet been  solved as there is no law which officially enables transplantation in Ukraine, so  no one wants to take the responsibility of the setting of  the medical institutions and teaching professionals who could carry out treatment and transplantation.

      The question is – why patients who need transplants have to ” go  to the world with an outstretched hand and beg “, and then again to go abroad for transplantation. Why are  we abandoned and neglected by the state and condemned to death.

 Why while amendments are being made to legislation which are being prepared in the Ministry of Health (it is the replacement of the existing rules, the “presumption of dissent ” to ” presumption of consent” – people are dying?

      In all civilized countries of the European Union and beyond, this circuit is well adjusted and  the ministry officials , doctors and MPs are not divided into two hostile camps – the “For” and” Against” , and are united in the struggle for the salvation of human life. Even in the countries where there is “the presumption of dissent  ” ( the USA and Germany) people’s consciousness on the issue the of rigor donation doesn`t presuppose any hesitation and any doubt during  the replacement of organs. In Germany, for instance,  Angela Merkel is for the transplantation.

      In Ukraine the Draft Law ” On the Amendments to the Law of Ukraine ” , “On the transplantation of organs and other anatomical human materials ” is already being discussed by the Chief transplant of Ministry of Health – Nykonenko Alexander ,  by the director of the Coordinating Centre of transplantation of organs, tissues and cells of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine – Ruslan Saljutin and by the chief physician of the capital Heart Centre – Boris Todurov.

      Let us hope that our society will reconsider its attitude to the law “On  the presumption of dissent ” together with politicians, doctors and officials of the Ministry of Health will unite in their views for the sake of salvation of people and will stop talking about how much it is expensive  to the state as the MAN`S LIFE IS PRICELESS.
