Recently, the scientific and practical conference “Transplantation in Ukraine: functioning of the system in conditions of war” has been held at the First Medical Association of Lviv together with IDonor: All-Ukrainian Donation Platform and the Subcommittee on Modern Medical Technologies and the Development of Transplantology of the Committee on National Health, Medical assistance and medical insurance of the Parliament.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Leading specialists in the field of transplantology of Ukraine gathered to discuss the possibility of transitioning transplantation from the “pilot project” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to the “package” of the National Health Service of Ukraine, which should take place from January 1, 2024, and to share the results of postmortem transplants carried out in the conditions of war in Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

In general, all the participants agreed that the process of transition to the NSZU “package” should take place, but a transition (test) period is needed, for example, until April 1, 2024, in order to prepare the system.<\/span><\/p>\n

Separate conclusions:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\ufe0fThe tariff for carrying out transplantation should be increased for a long time, but this is not possible with a “pilot project”.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The tariff for carrying out transplantation as a “package” of the National Health Service may be increased with appropriate justification.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0NSHU proved the need to expand the tariff for pre-transplantation (during the stay in the waiting list) and post-transplantation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The transplant center can monitor the patient regardless of where he was transplanted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0It is necessary to increase the number of recipients (those who need transplantation) through informing them in the regions, in order to increase the number of possible transplantations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0An increase in the tariff for carrying out transplantation is necessary so that the Transplantation Centers continue to carry them out, and not refuse due to unprofitability.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leader in carrying out all transplants in Ukraine (kidneys, liver, heart, lungs, heart-lung complex, kidney + pancreas) is the First Medical Association of Lviv. In 2023, 104 organs have already been transplanted, saving human lives. The institution is constantly developing, forming teams of young transplant specialists, and impresses with the scale of combining in one health care institution all highly specialized medical services with high-class specialists equipped with modern equipment. It was possible to see all this with my own eyes during the Scientific and Practical Conference.<\/span><\/p>\n
