The girl requires heart and lung transplantation. As in Ukraine such surgeries isn’t carried out, she lives only through supportive therapy. Despite promises to provide the patient with treatment, the state doesn’t provide the money.<\/p>\n

Locked in four walls 24\/7. Since last year Alina Didusenko haven’t went out. It’s difficult for her to breathe because of a rare disease – pulmonary hypertension. Basically, she feels like she has something like packet over her head. The disease arose because of a congenital heart defect, which wasn’t operated in time. More than twenty hours a day Alina breathes through an oxygen mask, which is attached to a special mechanism. It weighs slightly less than the girl – 40 kilograms.<\/p>\n

Alina requires supportive therapy in order not to feel worse. Its cost – 150 thousand UAH a month. The state is the one, who should provide the girl with the medicines, but they ain’t available. Alina’s guardian Natalia Gordienko has to give the girl smaller dose of medicine. The Austrian clinic, where last year the girl flew for the consultation, organized by philanthropists, warned not to do things like that.<\/p>\n

Doctor Yurii Ruzhin, who accompanied the patient, said that she needs the transplantation of heart and lungs. However, Ukraine isn’t a member of  Eurotransplant, that’s why they can’t carry out the transplantation in Europe.<\/p>\n

The NGO “Pulmonary Hypertension Ukrainian Rare Disease Association” said, that 27th October DOH gave a response to a formal request that in Ukraine Alina Didusenko will be provided with medications. However, currently it’s far from reality.<\/p>\n

Despite the tardiness DOH promised to assist in every possible way. They say that soon Alina will get a solution for inhalation for several months. But the problem with medicines is still not solved.<\/p>\n
